About
Nearly 100,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year in the United States. These diagnoses impact not only the women with the disease, but the family members and friends who love them. We founded Northwest for Breasts in 2004 to pursue the cause raising awareness, educating, preventing and finding a cure for breast cancer.
Our first fundraising event at the Red Door in Fremont featured a few local bands like Troll’s Cottage. There was a silent auction, a live auction, and a raffle. We raised almost $2000.00. In the three years since then, the events have maintained the same local feel while the crowds and donations grew.
This year our lineup includes local artists and comics including Kimya Dawson – featured on the soundtrack for the Oscar winning film Juno. The Northwest for Breasts event will be held at the Capitol Hill Arts Center on Friday, June 6th and will again include a silent auction, a live raffle, and other great ways to help donate to the cause.
